Kroll Ontrack announces data recovery breakthrough for Apple Xsan

new capabilities make Xsan server recoveries feasible

Kroll Ontrack, the leading provider of Ontrack® Data Recovery and other data management solutions, can now recover data from an Xsan server that has encountered volume corruption. The capabilities apply to Apple Inc.’s Xsan® 2 clustered file system for Mac OS X, using newly developed proprietary technology at Kroll Ontrack.

“Prior to this development, Xsan file system data recovery was mostly limited to hardware-based failures. Dedicated to continuous research and development, this is Kroll Ontrack’s third Apple-specific data recovery breakthrough in three months. Specifically, in late April 2009, Kroll Ontrack announced an enhanced suite of data recovery technology for both Mac OSX Mail and Microsoft® Entourage® email.
